Diarmuid O’Keeffe Sniper 1002 Pro
Due to Inter-county status order commitments our Pro Range models are currently unavailable
The Diarmuid O’Keeffe Sniper 1002 Pro is the current model designed in collaboration with and in use by Diarmuid.
The Sniper 1002 Pro hurl comes in a P.120 sanded finish with raw linseed oil to ensure a complete seal for maximum life performance. It also has a p.40 grit scuffed bas enhancing touch performance. Its bas design width at 160 mm is excellent for control, combined with the slightly weighted feel giving him a striking advantage with a forgiving sweet spot.
The beautifully shaped has proven a best seller since becoming part of our stock production in early 2019. This hurl has a tidy look and a slightly weighted feel in hand. The handle is a regular fit size with a very subtle hint of flattening and made in the traditional round oval comfort fit pioneered by Philip Doyle Jnr™️ for over thirty years. We believe that players’ styles and preferences may change over the years however the evolution of the human hand does not and transition to the “arm extension” must be seamless. The Sniper 1002 Pro has a semi weighted mid lower end balance which aids Diarmuid’s accurate striking with shortened grip and in full flight.
It carries slightly more weight yet not a higher volume of wood with a semi slender shaft, feel and appeal. This is achieved by selecting the planks with the correct wood density and weight distribution. Each hurl is only cut from centre quarter sawn boards of Grade AA Timber. Selection of raw material to produce Diarmuid’s Sniper 1002 Pro hurl is key to the over all performance with only 1 in 400 planks having the correct density, balance, visual and fibre grain tolerances.
**Note. The Sniper 1002 Pro is the current Hurl in use by Diarmuid O’Keeffe and will continue its development in our workshop under his guidance. Last November he added 5mm to the bas width to aid control. Models purchased some months apart may have slight changes or modifications due to ongoing development throughout the season. Diarmuid currently uses a 34 1/4” hurl.
Each Hurley comes with a Free Lightning XL Grip applied and a second one free. Diarmuid replaces the grips on his hurls once a month and a minimum of 10 to 12 days out from an important game giving time to accustom himself to the feel.
Est. availability: 5 units per month.
